  • Wednesday 31 March 2021 Food and fun Easter holiday programme 2021 This year Southwark Council will be hosting the Food and Fun holiday programme during the three main school holidays: Easter, Summer and Christmas. The programme is funded by the Department for Education and builds on last summer’s very successful ‘Summer of Food and Fun’ which was run in conjunction with Lambeth. The programme aims to support local families access free, healthy food and fun activities over school holidays in 2021

  • Thursday 21 January 2021 South London Citizens Delegates On the 10th December, Southwark Youth 4 Change (the group of Citizens who are working with City Hall and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, on the Action Plan to Improve Trust and Confidence with the police) met with Councillor Kieron Williams, the new Leader of Southwark Council. They asked him to work with Citizens as the previous Leader of the Council, Peter John, had done.

  • Monday 16 November 2020 No recourse to public funds Section 115 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 states that a person will have ‘no recourse to public funds’ if they are ‘subject to immigration control’. This means they have no entitlement to the majority of welfare benefits, including income support, housing benefit and a range of allowances and tax credits. The school is happy to support any family that has no recourse to public funds so do please let us know this information. NPRF Network also has a helpful website for more information:
  • Friday 9 October 2020 #HelloYellow On Friday 9th October, we came together to celebrate #HelloYellow for World Mental Health Day. Notre Dame staff wore yellow as a way of showing solidarity with young people and helping them know they are not alone with their mental health.
  • Tuesday 22 September 2020 Liturgy for SSLT & ESLT On Tuesday 22nd September our year 11 Student Senior Leadership  and Extended Student Senior Leadership team, along with year 7 form representatives, attended  an uplifting service in our school library.  Archbishop John presided over the service. Badges were presented to the pupils who have been given roles of responsibility. We expect our new team to take on the challenge of their new roles with enthusiasm and dedication, demonstrating the Five Simple Ways to our school community and beyond.

The moments that I have shared, the friends I have made, the devoted teachers I had and the principles I have learned will resonate with me for life. I will forever be grateful for the time I spent in Notre Dame.
  • Friday 4 September 2020 London Citizens Peckham and Southwark Citizens have been working hard taking part in workshops for the Mayor’s Action Plan for Improving Trust and Confidence in the Police. The aim of these workshops are for organisations to be able to talk about what they see are the problems between the police and communities, particularly young people.
  • Friday 4 September 2020 Livery Schools Link We are very fortunate to be part of a working group for the Livery Company Schools Link’s appeal to supply disadvantaged student’s laptops in school.
  • Friday 4 September 2020 St Julie's Garden We have once again this year had a wonderful display of sunflowers, (the emblem of Notre Dame). Unfortunately due to Coronavirus the St Julie Group has not been able to work in the garden but we are very grateful to Liam Cooper for planting and watering. Some more plants were purchased this year with funds from the PTA and we thank them for their support.

  • Wednesday 15 July 2020 Mass to mark the end of the Academic Year On Wednesday 15th July 2020 Archbishop John Wilson celebrated a special Mass for Schools and Colleges in the diocese to mark the end of the Academic Year, in St George's Cathedral, Southwark. It was a very uplifting service that brought us all together at this time where we have been apart for so long. Special thanks to Olivia and Emmanuella in Year 10 for the participation in the Mass.
